Getting Ready for Camp: How I’m Setting Up for Camp NaNoWriMo

Good morning, friends!

I know that it’s a little early, but I’ve decided to announce that this year, I’m going to be participating in NaNoWriMo’s Camp NaNoWriMo for April & July of 2018! I’m so excited to be apart of such a fun creative writing community, and I will be using this blog to talk about my progress with my stories as well as my writing. When NaNoWriMo comes around in November, I will up my word count to 55,000 words instead of the suggested 50,000 to push myself a little, especially since I’ll have written two short stories before then. For right now, to get me into the swing of a larger scale of writing, I’m going to start with some ideas I’ve had for shorter stories, and go from there. So far, for April, I’m working on a short story about a very intuitive and curious cyborg man that in length, my goal is 30,000 words. I decided on this length instead of the 50,000 the Camp suggested because it borders being the length of a novel. Also, choosing the 30,000 seems more like an obtainable goal for me at the moment, especially since I haven’t written such a high word count in a long time, it’ll help me warm up for July and November.

I have made my own Camp for those interested in joining, the Cabin name is called Camp Busy Bee, so if you’re interested in participating with this event, and want to join my cabin, I made my cabin public for all to join in!
*Important Note: according to the Camp NaNoWriMo website, as of today, you have 19 days to pick your cabin or you will be put in one based off your interests (or if you decided to not be in a cabin, that’ll be finalized in 19 days as well.)

Signing up with your own account is free and super easy to do! You can sign up here Camp NaNoWrimo

Sincerely,

Bee
